House is like George Clooney in "oh brother where art thou?", Roy Hobbs in "The Natural", but especially "Ulysses" in "The Iliad" by Homer.
It's all the same story- hubris (egotism) tears one away from one's self or home(house) and we struggle to back there against nemesis(trial and enemies encountered in retribution for their egotism). Or, learning the hard lessons in life
Ulysses means "wounded thigh" in Greek. He took 10 years to get home to "Penelope" (one who waits and weaves).
Roy means King, Hobbs is derived from the profession that "hobbled" horses to break them. Roy took 16 years to return to Violet (violated?).
There is nothing new under the sun;
House will always limp in the show.
