Will fans like the changes in Season 4?

Cynthia C. Scott over at associated content has a take on the changes in season 4, and some details on how the show will shape up, here is here piece.

"Last season, fans of the Fox TV-show House, M.D. were shocked when three of its leading players, Chase [Jesse Spencer] and Cameron [Jennifer Morrison] quit unexpectedly weeks after Forman [Omar Epps] also turned in his resignation papers. After fans fretted over whether the actors were leaving the show, executive producer Katie Jacobs confirmed that not only were they not leaving, but, according to the Fall TV preview issue of Entertainment Weekly, will be joined with three new faces in the cast.

Jacobs states that Hugh Laurie's irascible "pill-popping" doctor with the bad bedside manner will be working alone in the first few episodes of the show's fourth season, but will be ordered to round up a new team. "We have 40 [candidates], and he's just going to keep firing people every episode until we get down to two by episode 8 or 9," notes Jacobs. This new team will eventually include Olivia Wade (The O.C.), Kal Penn (24), and Edi Gathegi (Lincoln Heights). Meanwhile, Chase will be working in surgery, Cameron is headed for the E.R., and Forman will return after a stint at a New York hospital. House's longsuffering colleagues Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) and Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) will also still be on board.

The premiere episode, which airs on September 25, is, according to IMDB.com, reportedly titled "Alone," which explains alot. Since House has always been a loner, both personally and professionally, working without a research team which was constantly harping on his medical ethics might be a blessing in disguise. Outside of Cuddy and Wilson, the episode will likely include Dr. House delving into his medical mysteries by himself. There is also no doubt, though, that despite House's misanthropy, he has benefited greatly from his former team, and could also come to miss their input. During the first season, when Cameron temporarily quit, he went through great lengths to get her back, of course without actually stating he wanted her back. And last season, Dr. House was equally disturbed without stating outright when Forman decided to quit and look for work elsewhere. So Dr. House will likely act as if he can go it alone, but still longs to have the sounding board his medical team provided. Perhaps this is what will lead Cuddy to force him to assemble a new team."
