'House' Season Three DVD Available Soon

The new season of House M.D. is set to premiere in the fall, but fans will have the opportunity to go through the entire third season when the DVD becomes available two weeks from now. The five-disc DVD, which will be distributed by Universal Studios Home Entertainment, contains all 24 episodes from the medical drama's previous run.

The DVD also hosts numerous bonus features, including “Alternate Take From Cane and Able: The Angry Valley Girl Version,” “Half-Wit Commentary with Creator/Executive Producer David Shore and Executive Producer/Director Katie Jacobs,” “The Making of The Jerk: Anatomy of an Episode,” “Open House: The Production Office,” “Blood, Needles, and Body Parts: The House Prop Department,” and a blooper reel.

Also included in the DVD is a feature called “Soundtrack Session: Hugh Laurie and The Band From TV.” The feature gives fans a peek into the recording of “Minnie the Moocher,” a song performed by the House star and his band for the show's soundtrack.

The complete season three DVD of House runs for approximately 17-and-half hours, and can be viewed through anamorphic widescreen.
House's third season featured the main cast along with several distinguished guest stars, such as Kathleen Quinlan, Joel Grey and John Laroquette, among others. In the finale, three of the series' most prominent characters were seen departing from Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. Dr. Eric Foreman left the hospital, fearing he was becoming more and more like House. Dr. Robert Chase was terminated by House, who claimed that Chase had nothing more to learn. Dr. Allison Cameron resigned from her post feeling that House would do just fine without her.

When the drama series returns on September 27, fans can expect new faces at the hospital, including actors Kal Penn and Peter Jacobson.

The third season DVD will be released on August 21 and has been priced at $59.98.
