Playing one of the most unique personalities Lisa Edelstein has her job cut out for her, juggling doctors, patients and keeping Dr. House from disemboweling patients on a hunch.

Its almost hard to believe that this actress started her career as a VJ for MTV's 'Awake on the Wild Side". Lisa Edelstein was born on May 21st 1966 by Jewish parent and moved to New York when turning 18 to study theatre at New York's Tisch School of the Fine Arts.

It was in New York she became 'Lisa E' and as writer James St. James describes her "The Queen of the Night" for her involvement in the New York club scene. Lisa ever scores a mention in James St. James book 'Party Monster' for her impact on the New York club scene.

Lisa, who had received some celebrity status from her clubbing days (both for the mention in 'Party Monster' and being dubbed 'celebutante' by Newsweek) used her celebrity status to write, compose and star in her own musical dubbed Positively me. The musical was a reponse to the 90s AIDS problem and shortly after Lisa was cast as a VJ on MTV's 'Awake on the wild side'.

Since her debut on MTV Lisa Edelstein has appeared in countless sitcoms such as: Mad about you, Seinfeld, Leap of faith, Frasier, ER to name a few. Lisa has also had the time to star in some motion pictures. Most noticeably 'What women want' with Mel Gibson and 'Daddy day care' with Eddie Murphy.

Finally in 2004 Lisa Edelstein was cast as Dr. Lisa Cuddy, and as most fans will agree on she is doing an amazing job playing up against the brilliant Hugh Laurie. She is also in my opinion one of the absolutely sexiest women over 40 to ever enter the small screen.
